DAVIESIA

Daviesias are pea flowered legumes which are important parts of our native understories

They usually blend into the background until flowering and then are a magnificent sight.

Some species such as D.latifolia were used as a substitute for hops in the last century as the leaves have a bitter taste.

The species represented here are from The Southern highlands of N.S.W. Australia which has a very diverse range of soil type, climate and habitat.

Temperature ranges between -15deg C to +42deg C and rainfall between 24" to 50" p.a.
